About Me

About Me
Flying low, thinking high — chasing lines, tuning drones, and capturing moments with every pack.

Welcome to Skyzen FPV, my personal corner of the skies.

I'm an FPV drone pilot, builder, and enthusiast based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Like many others, my journey into FPV started with curiosity and late-night YouTube sessions — captivated by the flow, the speed, the precision, and the freedom that comes with flying. But it wasn’t until a trip to Chicago that I finally got hands-on with my first quad, and from that moment, I was hooked.

FPV (First-Person View) isn’t just a hobby — it’s a lifestyle, a mindset. It’s about pushing limits, exploring new perspectives, and building something with your own two hands, only to crash it and rebuild again. It’s chaos, it’s calm, it’s therapy in the form of solder fumes and high-speed dives.

When I got back to Tanzania, I realized how small the FPV community here really is. There aren’t many pilots around. No bando-flying crews — just wide open potential. So I decided to stop waiting for a scene to appear and instead start building one.

This blog is where I share that journey:

  • The builds – from budget cinewhoops to custom freestyle rigs.
  • The flights – beaches, rooftops, construction sites, forests.
  • The crashes – plenty of those.
  • And all the little things in between — tuning, gear reviews, beta flights, community stories, and lessons learned the hard way.

What to Expect Here

  • Honest stories from a pilot figuring things out.
  • Spot recommendations (especially around East Africa).
  • Build logs, flight footage, tuning notes.
  • A growing archive of lessons and ideas for pilots at any stage.

Whether you're an experienced pilot or just thinking about your first build, whether you're flying halfway across the world — if FPV is your thing:

Welcome to the journey.
Let’s build something — and crash a few things — together. 🚁🔥

If you’re based in Tanzania — or anywhere close — hit me up. Let’s fly together, share notes, or just geek out about quads and firmware.
